So, I am not a meditator. I sit and am able to not think for all of about 3 seconds before I start going off towards what I have to get done at work today, different things that I have read or need to read and even what’s for dinner. I have read about the benefits of daily meditation and there was even a period of my life where I joined a meditation group and tried to start a regular meditation practice. That ended promptly when I decided that the meditation group might be a cult, then I started to focus on other things.
On top of all these other reasons, I am selfish and hedonistic, so I have a hard time looking at meditation for the sake of meditation. Imagine my surprise the other day when I ran across this article about “Meditation and the Art of Writing”, which seems to me to be a valid argument for meditation in a professional life. How am I going to implement this in my life? I don’t know, but maybe I will give it a try.
